Supercars First Visit to Christchurch

he 2026 ITM Christchurch Super 440 marked Supercars’ first visit to Ruapuna Raceway and became a unique four-race weekend after Cyclone Vaianu forced the postponed Taupō finale to be added to the schedule. Will Brown’s weekend began with adversity when opening-lap contact in the rescheduled race caused significant rear damage, leaving the #888 Red Bull Ampol Racing Ford Mustang 17th.

Brown responded strongly across the remainder of the weekend, adapting quickly to the unfamiliar circuit and recovering to finish fourth in Race 2 and sixth in the feature race. His determined fightback helped minimise the impact of the early setback and demonstrated the resilience that defined his 2026 campaign.
