A Controversial Bathurst

The 2019 Bathurst 1000 saw Shane van Gisbergen’s #97 Red Bull Holden Racing Team Commodore carry a striking red-and-white livery celebrating 50 years of Holden factory motorsport. Inspired by the 1971 Holden Dealer Team Torana of Peter Brock and Colin Bond, the tribute became even more significant in hindsight as one of the final great celebrations of Holden’s Australian racing heritage.

Paired with Garth Tander, van Gisbergen remained in contention throughout the race before a dramatic and controversial finish involving DJR Team Penske’s late-race tactics. Van Gisbergen and Tander ultimately finished just 0.68 seconds behind the winner, making the race suit a tangible piece of one of Bathurst’s most memorable modern races and an important chapter in Holden motorsport history.

This is an original, race suit worn by Shane van Gisbergen during the 2019 Bathurst weekend. The suit is not autographed.

The Display

The suit is presented in Red Bull Ampol Racing gift box with a unique 'Scan for Provenance' QR code, providing permanent access to its official story, race history and digital authentication directly from Triple Eight Race Engineering.

A second Provenance sticker is included should you decide to frame your suit or display it on a mannequin, allowing you to keep its unique provenance close to hand.
