A Championship Winning Year

Shane van Gisbergen's 2016 season marked the breakthrough many had predicted. In his first year with Triple Eight Race Engineering, the New Zealander combined his natural speed with the consistency needed to challenge for the championship. A regular front-runner throughout the season, he maximised difficult weekends and capitalised on opportunities to build an advantage over teammate Jamie Whincup and the rest of the field.

The title was secured at the penultimate event in Sydney in dramatic fashion. After receiving a drive-through penalty following contact with Mark Winterbottom, van Gisbergen fought back to finish third, enough to clinch his maiden Supercars Drivers' Championship with a race to spare. He became the first New Zealander since Jim Richards in 1991 to win the title, beginning a hugely successful partnership with Triple Eight that would establish him as one of the category's greatest champions.

The suit is presented in Red Bull Ampol Racing gift box with a unique 'Scan for Provenance' QR code, providing permanent access to its official story, race history and digital authentication directly from Triple Eight Race Engineering.

A second Provenance sticker is included should you decide to frame your suit or display it on a mannequin, allowing you to keep its unique provenance close to hand.
