Craig Lowndes’ 2018 season provided a fitting conclusion to his remarkable full-time Supercars career. Racing under the Autobarn Lowndes Racing banner, he returned to winning form at Symmons Plains, claiming his first victory since 2016 and the 106th championship race win of his career. Midway through the year, he announced that 2018 would be his final season as a full-time driver.

The defining moment came at the Bathurst 1000, where Lowndes and Steven Richards claimed an emotional victory, giving Lowndes his seventh Bathurst crown in his final appearance there as a full-time driver. He finished the season fourth in the championship, ending his full-time career with two memorable victories and reaffirming his place among the greatest drivers in Supercars history.
